New eMuscle Car Here Around August?

There could be some entertainment value to a EV war for king of acceleration.
Chevy had the E-COPO Camaro 4-5 years ago. It even had a shifter in it.
Ran in the 9s.
(first video i found with an ET posted)

Ford followed it up last year with the Cobra Jet 1400
Low 8s.

If emissions were a big reason cars couldn't have more power, then what is the excuse to not build something like this for the street?

I think both of those cars are pretty cool. Wheel standing drag cars with a shifting automatic. Problem is that Cobra jet weighs over 5,000lbs!!!

MotoGP tried a "MotoE" series. Best I can tell it didn't do well. I'm not sure it's even a thing anymore. People just aren't interested and that's at the world level, not just US politics etc. I remember seeing one race and several of the bikes caught fire.

That is the Camaro that had the 6 inter coolers that gave it that extra push on the road course.

Im actually interested in seeing it.

I know many on here will bash it and hate it, but i think they will sell out any and all preorders very quickly for the car.

1300hp
AWD
"Muscle" car
9.0 flat 1/4 mile times.
400-500 miles of range
and possibly 90k starting price.

This is my guess.
See you in the winner’s circle.

That is the Camaro that had the 6 inter coolers that gave it that extra push on the road course.
AND, if found without a good driver in it, was passed by big heavy Dodge Hellcats, that are not expected to even attend road course events.

I'm not against Dodge having a bad ass EV car, I can't bring myself to call it "muscle" though. I just think they're a bit late to the party to try to market it as "bad ass". The first year may sell. There are a lot of people out there that stand in line for the latest iPhone after all. Their mistake is attempting to replace Hellcat with this EV.

My prediction though is as it plays forward, hype will wane just like it did for the Hellcat, the compromises will start to become clear, and IF they actually get enough EVs at a drag strip they'll be put in their own class where everybody runs identical times with identical cars that can't be modified and that will become boring pretty quick.

The rest of us will continue on with our ICE or maybe hybrid AWD platforms customizing them and making them faster and more track ready.

My .02.

Best of both worlds would be a hybrid.

Knowing stellantis it's gonna be straight up electric lol.

Stellantis will be 100% electric, but Chevy is going hybrid AWD on the Vette. That's got my interest now.

I was solely a Mercedes guy for years. Now they are nothing more than a BMW which always was the mechanics best friend.
Test drove a couple 21 Mercedes, 1 being an E class which we always liked for comfort and reliability, for the wife.
She never made it through the whole ride before turning around.

Yeah that's true, They also lost me on the styling, the new mb look awful. Bmw at least on the m5/m8 has kept the design language but their grille's on the m3/m4, 7/x7 are obnoxious to say the least. Audi isn't bad but I always had them 2nd rate to bmw/mb. Porsche is the only one left standing, timeless if you ask me but ridiculously expensive.
