Has anyone tried the new 29.5 x 10.5 x 17? I have so much torque and in ten attempts I have hooked twice with the mickey thompson 315 50 17s. Best is a 2.1 to 60 and a 1.29 60 foot time. That was at 4000 feet. So I just ordered the radial slicks. What pressure do I run these at? I am hoping someone has tried this new tire size.

Crew Chief Greg was researching those for his car. Seems the Ford guys using them are having problems with them holding the bead. Crew Chief decided on MT ET Street R.

1.29 60' is really good.

If your running a 1.29 60’ that’s really good man. Just saying.

as a matter of consistency that could be an issue. If it’s intermittent than you could look at the slicks.

That was at 4000 feet. 2.62 gear and demon converter with the stroker. That was the only time it hooked. So frustrating. March 12th is tnt. Hopefully with the radial slicks.

Tires are here. Only hooked twice out of ten times. 1.29 and 1.30. Not consistent. 9.6 @ 144 with 4000 foot da. Track static elevation 3075. These things are light.

Mixed. In three runs I dead hooked once. I lifted the front momentarily and got a little scared. I took my foot off the throttle. Got on it again. Then at 1100 feet she kept going into limp mode with a u0402 code. I am bringing her in as the valve body in the new transmission might be faulty. At 5000 feet with me getting off and on again and going into limp mode it still did 9.8 at 125. Normally at 5000 feet I go 143-145. You can see my run if you go to U tube tv and do a search. Wed night drags Tucson dragway. About 12 minutes plus in is me. That was my last run and I put the pressure down to 15 which did the trick.

How is the fit on NB compared to the 315/50/17 R? I have been debating between these two tires and would prefer the Hoosiers for sure if it did not require the wheel well rib grinding mods

After looking at the wheel wells after the runs they definitely rubbed. I had my mechanic pound the metal where they rubbed when it was on the rack a couple of days ago. But that is with this new wheel. I am not sure if they would of rubbed with the old race star wheel.

Got it, thanks for the reply. I'm going to try the R's first then as it sounds like both will need some banging/cutting. At 850rwhp with 3.09 so the 315 R's should work and are probably a little more durable on the 25 mile to and from the track.
