Over the Winter a storm has been brewing. After 3 years on the NHRA tour I was excited to get back into racing myself so I ordered my Redeye in June of 2018. In OCT I tuned my first Demon and right away noticed it was different enter Tim Barth. Tim and I have known each other for 10 years. We reconnected in OCT after I reached out to ask if he had seen what I was seeing on the 18 software and the rest is history. Very early on I was clear I bought the Redeye for one reason only and that was to be my R&D Mule at the track and to go faster and quicker than the competition. I soon found I didn't have to Twist his arm too hard. I am Fortunate to have quite a few tools at my disposal and we dug in right away as I waited for my car to arrive. Low and behold in Jan the day finally came. We had a plan in place to really go after it at MSHS in Georgia but the weather did not cooperate so we would have to wait. Next stop Rockingham and after spending all day Friday in the rain at the rental we got to work both never having one on the dyno. Saturday was perfect and once we had our baseline of 10.54@131 we went to work and we couldn't be happier. We made about 8 runs on the car and ended up with a best of the day 9.85@136

Fast Forward to 4-8-19, After being accused of not being on stock boost for the 9.85 Tim and I were reviewing data and he made the comment of imagine what this thing would do with a Pulley swap and Ignite so I though why not. I made a few calls and set up a rental at Atco. With only 2 days to get it going it was all hands on deck and Jim@Truestreet Performance was happy to jump in and help. Jim, Myself, Paul, And Tim all got to work by installing an ATI overdrive Balancer along with a Griptec 2.75 upper pulley and a set of ID1700cc Injectors.We finished Wed eve and with a quick collaboration on a starting calibration we loaded her on the dyno only to get 2 quick pulls in before loading her in the Trailer boy were we suprised. The second pull was still rich and we put down 933 WHP on my Dynojet, we unstrapped it and packed her up for the big day.

5:00 am Headed to Atco Raceway.
8:00 am Unloaded and prepped the car by 10 AM we were ready to run. First hit absolutely blew the tires off, I was able to chop the throttle and make a run to get the data 9.7@149.70 was the trap speed we were all blown away. Next pass WORSE, Spun hard chopped it twice and went 10.06@148 clearly this wasn't going to work. Back to the Laptop we go with some launch control Ideas we had been tossing around. Loaded her up did a big burnout and BAM 1.42 60 foot 5.93@119.86 to the center and 9.213@149.61 in the back the excitement was off the chart. Back to the laptop I went still too much power on the launch dialed her back made another hit and BAM 1.343 60 5.891@119 to the center and 9.187 149.13 in the back, Still spinning back to the laptop. Load her up BIG burnout past the tree backed her up and BAM 1.29 to the 60 foot clock 3.744 to the 330 and right before the 8th on what could have been our 8 sec run BOOM bye bye belt tensioner ending the day.
