When I bought my first Ramcharger in California, it was classified as a Station Wagon on the title, which I thought was awesome because it made registration cheaper.
Yeah @1971demon has the same issue

They collect higher taxes by bumping any 1 ton trucks to Tractor Trailer registration.
Ouch! Sure glad I'm not there.

After years of trying to get my Pete registered as an RV in CA, which is all I used it for and it was insured as, I finally got smart and registered it as a historical vehicle.
That lowered the registration from some $1,600 per year to $40.

Indeed! It's amazing what eliminating two doors can do for a vehicle.

I had some friends that took a Hino with a furniture trailer(Allied Van Lines) from Florida to California in the mid 80's. Pure pain. 😂

I don't know how the old guys did it to be honest. The inside cab accommodations were atrocious. The AM radio with a single speaker in the middle center of dash and EVERYTHING was about a payphone. Call your dispatch for load info and directions. No GPS.

But, those guys got it delivered. Props and kudos to the truck drivers of yesteryear.

My pansy-ass gets all bent out of shape when I lose my SiriusXm signal for a moment in the mtns. 😂

I started driving in 1972...no air conditioning..the cab interior...tan/brown stamped steel... very spartan (and they were loud inside)..and no clean burn power...those things stunk..and you did too after 500 miles...no air dryers...in the winter if you didnt regularly drain your air tanks..or load the glad hands with dry gas,,,you could be on the side of the road till spring...ans the suspensions like a buckboard...today our Cascadia fleet...are luxury liners

You left out that they had to turn the lights and wipers on and off themselves, too. The horror.
But seriously, not having Jake brakes must've been a thrill and a half.

Thoughts on the big center screen??
Biggest reason for big center screen? Marketing appeal. "Look how big it is!" "Cool!" "Wow." Thank you Tesla.

I have the big screen and initially I did not like it. It took me about a year or more to come to closure to pick up the new Ram 1500.

This is the sport truck. More sport, less truck. Go fast with a bed. I'm much more into this than the Raptor kind of things. I think they sacrifice too much sports to the truck side of things. But that's just me.

Virtually identical to the Dodge ramcharger...my friend was the Plymouth salesman at the time..and it was on the showroom floor...and we were having a blizzard at the time...sounded like a good idea..and it was..

Ah, I knew there was a reason I haven't driven the 'Hawk much.
Since it has a smaller screen, maybe I only have to wait six months before I can stomach it?
