How did you get way without grinding the lower swaybar mount on the knuckle?

I don’t think I did. Im not there now so I can’t check on that but I’ve seen a couple of the others just like it that they’ve done and they did have to do the grinding in those spots. The picture is probably a “pre-grind” shot. You’re very observant 😂

The grinding is what's keeping me from the 15 conversation... so I notice everything.......

Very nice well planned and executed, I have also been watching your build over at the other site. Can’t get enough of it.

And then there is the required NHRA Competition License..... 6 observed consecutive passes starting with easy half and three quarter track passes, and followed by “representative” runs (meaning in the nines). View attachment 387 View attachment 388
You know you're already fast when you're turning 11 seconds at a whopping 67 MPH! awesome

One big fun adventure before tearing it down was the NoFlyZone half mile in Gila Bend Arizona in the spring. SRT Autoworks is one of the sponsors of the twice a year event. This was something new for me and... what a blast! The car ran 171mph and I got to try out the chute for the first time. The next NFZ Arizona is scheduled for Sunday October 13th. Anybody in the South West who wants to see an amazing event or with a Hellcat who would like to see what these 1000 horsepower Cats are like is invited to show up. Hellcat owners who may be interested in one of SRT Autoworks builds can ride along (we provide the helmet). Ladies who will scream all the way down the track only need to like Hellcats and think the guys who drive them are special. Anyone say anything to you using those skinnies up front at 171?

I’m running the M/T Sportsman’s up front for the half mile. That’s a stout tire. I change to the M&H for quarter. I saw a 3000 hp twin turbo Viper run 280 mph on the M/T’s so I figured I was good. Nobody said anything at the event but they have a “self tech” where you check the boxes on the card, sign it and turn it in.

I know! I laughed when I saw that. I didn’t even bring it off the line on that first pass either. It was basically just roll into full throttle and then off the gas at the half track flag ( they had it marked). Shows the difference between a nine second car and a 11 second car. It’s huge.

I’ve have some people asking about my choice for the exhaust system on this build. At this time, the largest pre-built system available is the 2x3.5 inch race version by ARH (American Racing Headers). The equal length primary pipes go into a merge collector that opens up to 3.5 inches. That system is available in a full headers to tail pipes combination. But..... I decided not to use that and went with a set of 3.5 inch in and out race mufflers instead of the 3 inch mid muffs and resonators that come with that full system. The mufflers I went with are Flow Master 6”x16” straight through race models. They call them “Laminar flow”. There are no chambers in these like most Flow Masters. I spent days reading everything I could find on mufflers trying to sort through the advertising hype. While needing big flow capabilities, I want it to be subdued under normal around town street use. As it turns out I think I hit my goal. They are surprisingly quiet at idle but still have a deep rumble that sounds good with the cam. At WOT they can be loud as hell as long as they’re civilized on the street. On the back side of the mufflers, I went with turn-downs that are aimed at the ground just behind the rear tires. This does two things.... in the event of a engine failure it’s not going to be blowing oil in front of the rear tires, and two.... on the burnout, the exhaust blows the smoke out to the sides. Looks like a smoke explosion! 😎 This required some custom tube fabrication to place the mufflers but we managed to do that in house and are happy with the results. One other thing I had done was a “titanium” ceramic coating (inside and out) of the headers. The goal being reduced under hood temps. Here are some pics..... 86BE30DB-071D-499F-BBFE-E7BC6BD69926.jpeg A8985166-6AE3-4A86-9F3D-018B899F4E59.jpeg C62C869E-60AD-425B-96FE-94D1932FCE7F.jpeg C9B8A61B-9D85-4F0B-A4A9-DF601023B8F1.jpeg EB8BE68A-825B-4D13-9EC5-54CB21FBBF33.jpeg 45DFA1BA-5DE8-40E1-AFD1-C78923C791BB.jpeg 08BE8C17-F76E-46D8-A42B-090626F62203.jpeg

Nice. except for the titanium header coating (mine is lowly ceramic) that's very similar to the exhaust on my SC GTO

Mine is not super loud, really great sound at idle and under 1/2 throttle or less. Get it on and the world knows about it.

It is amazingly quiet at idle. I have a feeling that at WOT it will be a different story but that’s going to wait a little while until we get on the dyno. Other than tuning the only stuff left to do is get the rear tires mounted and on the car to check fit and get the new hood on. That came in and is being wrapped today. Lol... No! It's made in California (which is rapidly becoming China) for Kenne Bell.

Kenne Bell needs to say they make "electric" superchargers, etc. [smoking] Sad, but true...this State...[screwy]
