I had a 2020 Raptor for a pinch over a year and just under 14,000 miles. The motor wasn’t bad, but turbo lag was noticeable. The worst part of the EcoPoop equipped Raptor is the fake engine noise piped into the cabin. It got to a point where I didn’t even want to accelerate quickly on an on-ramp because of the sound.
Can you not turn that shit off? God, what are they thinking. Cram a tubesock down the front of your pants.

Details? Any specific comments? Photos of engine bay? Blueprints lol
He would not do it without permission and I would never ask him to. I will post his comments as he gives them to me.

I want a street truck. I have no use for a TRX.
Lower it and change the tires and wheels then.

I’d love a trx but have no use for one as a daily.... TRX is way more cool but I need a daily 😂
You're saying that I screwed up when selling the Trackhawk and getting a TRX for a daily?

The Explorer is a daily driver SUV not a muscle car but it's very hard to make a 6 cylinder sound good. It's why I have the stock exhaust on my supercharged 4Runner. Tried a Magnaflow and well, see the video I posted above LOL.

Hose is the best. Always called those things fart cans. Even when they're fast they still sound like ass [no pun intended]

Well, that's what an inline 6 Challenger is gonna sound like. Go look up 2JZ Supra videos. No getting around it I'm afraid.

Sounds like nails on a chalkboard. I’ve yet to figure out how anyone thinks these sound good.

My above posts were more daily driver focused then muscle car as I use my current hellcat.
I think what ever turbo version will be a good 5.7 and maybe even a 6.4L replacement power depending but I wish they kept something like the hellcat and still worked on updates for this platform.
No way we look at it in the next 3 years will we see any sort of v8 development from dodge. they will for sure lose people over this. I may be one of them. But as far as a daily goes I may be interested.

MB TT i6 sound, it won't sound much different than this ...

(later on, sounds like fake engine sounds in the cabin)

I mean if an AMG and M car with a similar engine doesn't sound good at all, the Dodge version of this engine will be just as disappointing.

@jonx96 Crew Chief Greg just bought a 2022 Durango R/T with the Tow n' Go package all decked out. I can't wait to check it out. Comparing to the Ford ST (which has a few more ponies and torques) I was surprised the Durango has 3,000 lbs of add'l towing capacity at 8,700lbs vs the Ford Explorer ST 5,600. That would seal the deal for me as I've been looking for something to tow the Hellcat to races and....V8 LOL.

This towing capacity thing is one of the reasons I've kept my 4Runner for 20 years. Nothing on the market in that class out performs it (by much if any) even today.

We test drove a 2020 R/T because it was all they had on the lot. We were not in love with the suspension. But I do not think it was a tow n go. I think tow n go comes with better suspension. The tow rating didn't matter to me because I have the diesel truck to pull the car trailer. But if you are looking to tow your car the Durango will probably be what you end up with. Our biggest thing was the Explorer had better MPG, Performance and Suspension. So for us it was a no brainer. The R/T wasn't painfully slow by any means we were hoping it was a little quicker but it isn't a race car so that alone wasn't the deal breaker. It was the feel of suspension turning and changing lanes. With the Tow N Go Suspension you'll have to report back.
Have you test drove an ST?

I haven't driven any of them yet. Trying not to to be honest or I'll end up buying something LOL. I'll be able to really check out Greg's Durango when it shows up. The Tow n' Go basically gets all the SRT goodies best I could tell. Active suspension, exhaust, performance pages, big brakes, etc. Kind of an odd package to be honest based on the name Tow n' Go.
