Did you ever look for a relay that controls it? This would be one of my 1st checks, swap it with another one and see if it works.

I was thinking to myself there has to be some sort of relay for it. But not a clue where to even begin looking for it

Maybe you can call the dealer and have them look it up 😉

I will look for the copy of work done again and see if I still have it. A car fax type of thing may show what was done

This issue has come up before with our cars and I can't believe we can't find an answer

Book references relay, but I didn't get that far, in the wiring diagrams, yet.

Your OM will tell you where to locate the trunk relay.

I thought it was hilarious in the manual that they use the trunk diagram in the short to ground check, as if the universe was giving you a big hint...

Also have you checked the connector to the actual button? Is it plugged in? 🤣

Welll if it was that. I will have to look at wiring more but the trunk button should still work right?

It appears from above diagram that the tan/yellow P31 wire is the actual latch driver...have someone push the release while you check for full voltage there, should tell one of 2 things, wiring issue before latch or, if full voltage is present when requested, latch is bad. BTW, if memory serves me correctly the earlier models had a lever on the side of latch that was the equivalent of child lockout...not sure if newer ones have them or not.

No voltage but wire has continuity

As stated above, press the trunk release button, check for voltage, at the latch connector. Should be 12v.

Also, check the relay.

Since BCM wire is good, and FOBIK doesn't work, may be relay, or bad ground.

I'm not seeing a relay in the diagram. Am I missing it?

My book mentioned a relay, in the BCM diagram, but I couldn't find it. Maybe more data in the owner manual?

It 100% should have 12+Volts when actuated, a 2nd person hitting the button while you observe Voltmeter will tell, you could even use a 12v light and put one side to the wire and ground other side..then you can just hit button and see if it lights.

That was the first test I did and nothing.
