Absolutely amazing, congrats again Z! All the hard work paid off
After coming back from my record setting pass, I had to quickly turn the car around for the final around and that included checking everything that I could including catch cans, a couple fresh plugs I put in for reading purposes, logs, coolant pressure, and all the usual stuff like ice, fan to cool the trans down, etc. All while being congratulated. I got help turning the car around for the last round from Chris Baily and his wife and then before heading up, I decided to drink a Red Bull, I probably shouldn’t have, lol.

When it came time to bump in and get on the two step, I forgot to press the button for that + trans brake so I launch through the beams. I let off, then it stalls in front of everyone watching while Casey takes off and runs another 8.1 for the win.

Could it be any more embarrassing? That feeling quickly pass because guess what? I tune for Casey the new TX2K Heavyweight winner, so in a way I still feel like I won too.

Honestly I couldn’t be happier with this outcome. I don’t have to feel guilty about beating a client. I hate that feeling. I’ll take the record for now. It may not live on forever but the memory of doing it with the world watching will.

I want to put them on my car but don’t think you can use them on the street
Ask Doug Cook.

I thought we went over this, there is no dot law, no federal law, no state law that says beadlocks are illegal, show me the law...

Dont need no stinking Turbo's lol.... Wonder how much Nitrous was used. Im geussing a 500 shot. Freaking Whipple 3.8 makes some jingle for sure. I think he's still on the 3.2 pulley.

Imagine how much power its really making when considering the parasitic loss is huge. Easily 2200 hp I bet.

Z bumped through the lights in the finals against Casey Hoong. Casey ran a 8.12 @170 for the 3rd pass in a row!! That 3.8 Whipple blower only car is working at 4000 lbs. super awesome seeing an all Mopar finals.

Z's 7.4 @184 is the new record!

Agree. There are tire stores that won’t mount beadlocks because they don’t want to expose themselves to the liabilities of whatever but that’s just the stupid ass world we live in. Those Radial Pros however say right on the side “not for highway use”. I’m going to assume that could be interpreted as not allowed if they wanted to be dicks about it. 😂 IMG_2666.jpeg

Not legally, just safely. I’m talking around town and highway use every now and then. I’m talking about TBM brakes, not beadlocks

You should ask Doug Cook or one of his people.

I’d think they wouldn’t recommend it but no race only item is supposed to be used in the street. Doubt I’d get an actual response

Bottom line is if there is no STATE STATUTE to enforce something then it DOES NOT EXIST period! Federal laws means nothing when it comes to state statutes.

Federal authorities have no authority with state laws they can only ennforce federal laws. They cannot make MV stops.

What is supposed to legal and what is not legal in the street in found in every motor vehicle statute book issued by every state. If there is not a specific statute to address a specific issue then its not enforceable by anyone!

Again, I was talking about SAFETY. Will they actually stop at 60mph on the highway reliably and can they handle stop and go.

The DOT justification comes from minimum tread depth when new.
Of course after the first burn out they are now not DOT compliant lol.

They are DOT compliant by design, but "not for highway use" by lawyer lol.
The Street R is only legal cause it has a few more grooves for water
which is comical cause after a few burnouts they are gone as well!

Ive enver brought mine to a tire store. Didnt even know those idiots
knew how to mount them properly.

As far as the "Track" is concerned for the Pro Radial "Not for hiway use"
wont matter cause ur at the track. So the street legal argument fails.

If its a cop and he stops u then yea he can tow ur shit every state has statutes
pertaining to tires themselves and simply stating not for hiway will fit every
state that has a statute pertaining to it.

The beadlocks are just not mentioned anywhere in any state statute so that
would not apply to the actual tire compound and whether its safe or not.

Well, in the rain no. But on a dry surface tread depth has little to do with stopping power. Slicks stop on a dime on the street when its dry. Having no rain groves doesnt play a roll in stopping power unless ur down to the wear bars or something lol.

Stopping power comes from tire compound and nothing else. Which is why a snow tire stops better in the winter. Its not the tread that helps most its the softer compound to grip the snow. No difference with a summer tire its compound that gives u grip when dry.

Groves only play a roll in the rain. Look at all ur Nascar tires they are all slicks and stop just fine. The legality of a tire and its use on the street has everything to due with its ability to STOP in the RAIN!!!

Again, I was talking about SAFETY. Will they actually stop at 60mph on the highway reliably and can they handle stop and go.
