I was invited to attend a sponsored Xtreme Xperience driving event at the Nashville super speedway. I did one of these in 2022 and drove a Porsche Cayman GT3(?) and a Huracan. Porsche was awesome, Lambo was beautiful to look at but terrible as a track car. On/off light switch throttle made it very twitchy.
Xtreme Xperience is expensive and I honestly don't think it's worth it if you're paying yourself. $400 for 3 laps and if you get caught in lapped traffic they don't let you make up that lap. It's over in less than 5 minutes. You do get an in car coach and a cool video if your driving. I couldn't imagine being one of the in car coach folks having to hang on for dear life with some stranger you know nothing about doing triple digits in an expensive car. The guy that rode with me must have eaten gummies. He was super chilled out lol.
This time they had a couple Porsches to choose from, a couple of Ferraris, and a C8 Z06. I've been curious what the Z06 is like on track so I picked it and was SHOCKED at how good it actually was. The grip was un-believable.
When I got in the car I told the instructor I had one and was curious what it could do, so he moved me to the front of the group just behind the lead instructor in a Hellcat Charger so I was chasing him around the track. About mid-way through the 2nd lap we'd caught a Ferrari and Porsche so I had to slow down until the instructor gave me permission to pass, which ruined that lap.
Z06 continues to impress. It's as close to a "do everything" car I've owned. The fact it was on the list with cars costing a LOT more is pretty impressive and it's faster 0-60 than all of them.
