I think some of us take for granted just how INSANELY complex it is to build a car from scratch

Summer help got $5/hr. Good money in ‘72.

That was spectacular money! Better than most college grads at the time!

At a Steel Challenge couple years ago, son of a good friend asked me about careers. I told him "I don't know any poor plumbers". Couple other shooters overheard and agreed. He is now in a tech high school and has a summer job with a sizeable plumbing contractor. It is nice to see some kids are on track to a good life.

Or electricans. Quality carpenters too.

Sucks that this country doesn't really promote trade work as a viable career pathway. College is NOT for everyone and there are plenty of worthless degrees out there!

I know a lot of tradesmen that have awesome cars, boats, motorcycles and homes...ALL PAID FOR!

Finally watched the interesting video.

But it was sad to see the press that (according to the sign on it) punched big holes in perfectly good metal...for sun roofs.
