Per4mance DIRS and Differential Fluid Change

A neighbor came over and we discovered that with a 90 degree hexagonal Allen wrench (key) it is possible to fully insert the key into the fill plug from the top. By reaching over the same right side of the DIRS, looking forward. There isn't much room to rotate the plug, and it might depend on...

Per4mance DIRS and Differential Fluid Change

I will answer my own question! I googled "allen key set with 45 degree bend". Not an exhaustive search effort, but there are two brands I found with an 8 mm I found that look perfect. At US websites they say they are out of stock. This site in the UK has them (Nielsen company located there)...

Hmmmm, any chance you can post a picture of your cut Allen key and how the ratchet wrench is used?

Per4mance DIRS and Differential Fluid Change

There is a small machine shop near my house and maybe they have something that can cut an Allen key for me. It would be nice if I could find a commercially made 8 mm Allen key, with a long section, where there is a 45 degree bend close to where it goes into the hex recepticle. That would clear...

Per4mance DIRS and Differential Fluid Change

DGatzby, I freely admit it...I was worried that my removing the DIRS would wind up with me looking at a pile of parts on the floor *grin*. It took me many hours to put it on because I am slooooooowwwwww. And that whole use dental floss to fish the receivers in place for the two bolts - that...

Per4mance DIRS and Differential Fluid Change

Hello All, As usual in my posts I'm going to give a lot of information. If you've felt I'm too detailed - or this topic doesn't interest you - do yourself and me a favor and skip this post. At 1,800 miles in December, 2019, I drained the OEM rear differential fluid and replaced it with Royal...

Gonna need a flat bed to steal mine

Has anyone had their dealership do whatever they do that precludes us having a new key fob made if we lose one? I got a letter a few months ago about it - it is a free service trying to reduce thefts. Getting new fobs can be done, but it requires replacement of a $200 part (plus labor, tax)...

Gonna need a flat bed to steal mine

If you back into a parking spot and put on the parking brake - and leave it in Park if an A8 - the will have to enter the car to release the brake and get into the console to bypass Park. And, for me (because I forgot once and tapped one), I won't be able to scrape those concrete stops. If...

    Road Course Videos

DGatzby and SixGun, DGatzy wrote; "You will find the outside edge of the tire nearly hitting the front liner...Measure the remaining room before you buy a taller tire. A fatter one makes it marginally worse. I say that because with a gapped out 11” wide wheel to match a staggered rear 12”...

    Road Course Videos

Great videos, and fun reading about your experiences! I also have some 315/30 PS4's on the front of my car on 11" wheels. Thanks to DGatzby I have the AAD front arms - set at about -2.0 degrees camber - and they are solid. With five days on road courses last year these tires are wearing evenly...

Looks like the list is out. My nearest is 159 miles away. I searched "stage kit" and got to it. https://www.dcperformance.com

Is Racing on 93 "Safe"? Not really.

Speedy, Is your recommendation to add 2-3 gallons of unleaded 109 octane part of a full tank of 18.5 gallons? Thx.

    Now they're tracking to steal

I love this idea - daughter is destined for greatness. But let's run with her idea. How about we just start putting a sticker on the car and skip actually putting on an Apple Tile? Apple gets no revenue, no thieves (or vengeful ex-....ummm, themfriends?) could ever hack into the tile for...

Keep an eye out for this upgrade to your 6.2, tuning w/o voiding warranty... WTF!

Maybe they put this out going into winter so we can obsess over wanting it? You know, cancel unimportant things like 30 year wedding anniversary vacations to Hawaii so we can buy the tune in spring. These spikey snow tires look pretty cool.

My dealership won't even take appointments - citing a lack of mechanics. They want you to just drop the car off and they'll call you when they get around to doing the job. It's been this way for months.

I saw the original "Vanishing Point" movie which starred the 1970 Challenger when I was 15. Been hooked every since.

    Streetmusclemag.com 1970 Challenger Article

Some of you probably get this free email from streetmusclemag.com. Nice write-up about the 1970 Challenger that started it all for us. Since this was sent free to me I think it should be okay to put the link here...
