I think you're going to be okay with 2.5oz with the lighter bias ply tires. I believe they wanted to put 3oz in mine but err'd on the side of caution.
I was thinking 3 might be good for the front being lighter. Going to have to get that taken care of soon. The stupid tire change rush will be starting soon. March 15th the dummies can put summer tires back in here.

Be careful using old tires. Even if they are stored in a dry/cool area the chemicals inside evaporate over time. You should notice a difference in them and a brand new set of the same tire if you were to run them back to back.

The years I spent racing modifieds I found the wholesalers that were turning the most volume of the tire I was running to ensure I didn't get aged rubber. We would also wrap them in Saran Wrap to slow down the degradation before we used them. Hope this helps.

Definitely sage advice. I am not super concerned (temperature controlled garage stored) as these will most likely not last long (expect lots of street miles), and we'll move on to something else or replacements.

Pulled this garbage off tonight.

The ridiculousness that is jacking points on these cars got me worked up enough to start developing a better solution.

Figure building a set of custom sub-frame connectors is in my near future.

Metal Supermarkets is overpriced. If you were closer you could just come by my shop and I would just give the material you need.

The sentiment is much appreciated! I usually just raid their off cut room - LOL.

So I didn't go out for steel today, but after getting back from the bank I did start this:

Finalized the rock guards/mudflaps. Made a couple of "nuts" to ease installation. Not bad for $35 in old used flaps and some left over 80s GM metric fasteners. Having it tucked behind the flare and into fender liner has it in there for a very snug install.

Have used the saran wrap (or non chemically impregnated trash sack and paint protection sheeting) myself. Every little bit helps.

Getting back to OPs original premise and not disparaging his choices.
The only options on my 19 Hellcat are the wide body and A-8 trans. In spite of the dealer pressure to load it up.

I realize this is an old thread because of motorhead and the "poverty pack" concept. Something about a low option car makes me take notice!
