Ah, sounds like you're going by the Lie-O-Meter, not calculating actual mileage.

That makes it a bit tricky to know what's really going on, as it shows the mpg over the past 200 miles or so, and not necessarily accurately.
It's over 200 miles each way. I look at the end of the run.

I sense your brand loyal :) but I challenge you to take a GMC 1500 with the 3.0 turbo diesel for a test drive an let me know what you think:unsure:
you will be very surprised.
I change mine every 3 years as well, just ordered a 23 to replace this one...................I know hell will freeze over before you set your butt in a GMC lol
Where's the gag emoji when you need it. I think I'd rather walk or ride an e-bike before giving those asswhipes $.10 [vommit]

DavidKFla, you may want to dive into the rabbit hole of additives.

I generally have to use anti-gel (which shouldn't be an issue for you), as with the limited driving I do, the 74 gallons of fuel often end up being summer blend in the winter and vice versa.

Anyway, some additives do promise higher cetane and improved mileage. Getting between 5 and 12 mpg for the most part, you'd think I'd know which additive to use, but I don't.
Which cetane booster do you recommend?

I really can't recommend one over another, not really having used much of any of them.

The Howes I use for anti-gel has a summer version, too, and Stanadyne is Cummins approved as I recall.
Optilube placed very well in the tests I've seen, but those are old.

Straying from the established brands, if you believe in advertising nothing beats Hotshot's Secret.

Oh, what year is your pickup? If you have the CP4 pump extra lubrication can be critical. There is/was a recall on those pumps.

I have a 2021 Cummins.

I think a '21 has the old (better) CP3 pump, but don't take my word for it.

No recall for that yet. Only for possibily catching on fire. It didn't have the defective parts.

There are only two ways for them to catch fire that I know of, well recalled reasons anyway.
One's the transmission, the other the grid heater solenoid. The latter is easy enough to circumvent.

Our commercial fleet truck mileage has dropped 1/2...to 3/4 of a mile per gal in 3rd quarter...may not sound like much...but with each truck averaging 1800/2000 miles a week..it's significant..poor fuel quality..the biggest contributing factor..as far as I can tell...refining short cuts??...who knows...
You'd be surprised how technical problems at the plants can add to the bottom line....
