You can run 8’s with easier with weight pulled. Most of these cars got the little juice hit to put them easily in there. There are plenty of boats and stock motor cars on that list.

I didn’t spend 20 k , you don’t have to buy all them so called go fast parts to go fast you just have to be resourceful

Brother this year the numbers aren’t being posted because I make more money that way , look all around me in that list I’m the fastest supercharger only car they all had another power adder or a big as whipple lol and the best da I saw was -300 I also ran 8s in 1600 da 😁

I don't know that list tells the full story though. Built motors, suspension work, fuel type, trans upgrades, it all adds up. Looks like a 100 shot does a lot for these cars though.

That's true, I've always have said a drag racer can't always show all of their cards.

that’s a decent list, but I would garner to say that that wasn’t all done “easily” or “effortlessly”. If turning wrenches is your day job and you got the ability to get parts and knowledge easy, then of course achieving these results will be much simpler than a regular joe.

“most” guys are at the mercy of whatever they are told, and they spend money and blow parts trying to figure it out.

That list has some 8 second passes, how many cars have a shit ton of work done to them or even a little bit of work to them and are not on that list. It’s way more than the 30 or so you snapshot. It’s in the thousands!

I’m sure there are grudge racers who don’t post times but not a crazy amount. There are a lot of powerful cars out there that can’t break into the mid 9’s due to track, prep, or tune. It takes some seat time to know how the car reacts under different track conditions. Some people would also rather just have their 1000whp dyno sheet to put under their hood and that car show. I’d say that would equate to the “thousands”, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Yes it is. Never ends

when I started on my Hellcat I wanted a 9 second car.

I got that in spades.

then there was the possibility for 8’s, tired for about 6 months playing around. Broke some shit and said nah. I’m good. Love my car. If I want 8’s I’ll build something else.

I daily the hell outta my Hellcat. Love it

It's a slippery slope, been there done that with the old car and held the M6 record briefly until the next guy ran a bit better. I saw quickly it was a money pit and decided I'd just pick a race class that was reasonable and set the car up to run it. That 2009 R/T ran in the 10s so I wanted the Hellcat to be able to run 9s but the race class I compete in is the 10.0 so I can just slow it down a tick and try to make it as consistent as I can.

you are the only sane person here 😂🤣 we are crazy we take a 700 hp car which is more then sufficient and mod it 😁

I kept thinking SRT was going to release a Challenger with the Hellephant power plant and was gonna upgrade, so I didn't wanna get too deep with this one. With that looking less and less likely this one may get drop in pistons and a sprtiz of the happy happy at some point though LOL

1 out of 30 ;) Many have or will spend 20k plus on go fast parts and replacing broken parts, especially if they still street the car.

Heck if we are talking lighter I'm all in with a fox body transplant. See enough with chevy engines in them. Stock hellcat engine in a 3300 lbs car would be in the 9's let alone a full built one
