Seriously. How many quarts are you guys doing for a 2015. I know the pan is identical, only difference is the dipstick. Mine shows full at 6qts. I did do 7 which always shows way over filled. What are you guys doing?
7 in my 2015 with the new dip stick.

I’m pretty sure engine masters did an episode where too much oil negatively impacted performance

In a race car that gets the motor rebuilt 5 times a season sure. Run these low on oil and they'll starve in the upper RPM ranges.

I’m not sure these would starve with 6-6.5, even with it slushing back. Id like to see oil pressure from logs from both 7 and 6-6.5

Redeye got an updated oil pan with baffles to prevent slosh.

My buddy blew up a built 426 in his Challenger doing a long pull. When torn down they found it starved for oil due to the time at WOT. Getting the right amount of oil is key. Not too much, not too little.

Please experiment and let us know your results :)

They did. On ours 7 is fine. I tested that last year. Do a pull and watch oil pressure

My oil pan had a baffle, strange - the pickup sits in it

Probably, he was playing with a Viper and said he was WOT for "a while" lol then heard a bang and smoke.

guess redeye pans have updated baffles? I’d be curious to see the inside of one. @Marc W, you have a different k member up front for the rear sump pan right? Manual steering?

My current setup doesn’t really apply to what anybody else here is doing. We experienced a drop in oil pressure thru 1st and 2nd gear on the track with the stock ‘16 oil pan. Some of that is probably just due to hard acceleration with the early pan but some may be due to the front coming up so high with our setup. Moroso has a rear sump pan that addresses this and after changing to that, the logs showed no loss. That pan requires some modification to the stock crossmember, but it’s not really a big deal. I change oil after every time at the track and having the rear sump with the drain plug at the rear is huge convenience with the diaper. Don’t have to do anything but pull it down a tad and… done. 😎

Went to track today, 3000 DA 😅😅, ran my worst 60’ ever, and 1 10th slower. 3.70 id going back in you guys are nuts with the 3.09 not enough gear. Locked myself out of laptop, no way to unlock it, so couldn’t data log or try two other tunes I have with more timing for the launch. Bit disappointing, but didn’t break anything. There were literally 10 cars, could have really dialed the car in with the other tunes. What a shame.

Absolutely

When over-filled...

7 quarts is the correct fill for these blocks.

When I was asking/debate this with this guy, after much back and forth, I finally asked him what he runs in his...

"7 quarts because I don't want to starve the pump under acceleration.

I have the 7 quart dipstick and after a full, lengthy drain, 7 quarts fills exactly to the top of it.

My (and his) .02
