Idk I got different tires and now there's even more wheel weights. Wonder if the rim has more weight on one side than another... think I'm going to take it to a different spot and ask them to see if they can do better.

To me this isn't acceptable but idk 😐 😕 🤷

Pic of the 'dot' on the tire in relation to the stem & those weights ?

There are no dots on the tire, if you are referring to the red and yellow dots I see on tires for mounting and balancing.

And the wheel weights are 180 degrees from the valve stem...

That is 1/2 the weight of another wheel. Turn it inside out.

Tell them to line up the triangle with the valve stem and rebalance it...should be much improved.

That sucks, makes sense tho that they would be 180 from the valve stem as it's the heaviest part of the wheel.

Does that have meaning beyond pointing to the wear bar/indicator ??

I have found there is a heavy and light side to most tires. Looking at pic, all the weight is to offset heavier side,(Valve stem area,) hence the reasoning to move the tire the 180* and rebalance...the very worst is the same weights would be on other side...but I suspect a noticeable reduction will occur as the stem/tps should about weigh the 4 oz of weight currently on it.

Sheesh, Eric, he didn't even bother to tell the machine to hide the weights behind the spokes?

I dunno, Eric. She hasn't mentioned anything along those lines, but that doesn't mean much.

Last time she drove a Challenger was in my measly V6, by the way. No records to be had with that one, except in mileage.

There's no need to dismount the tire. A Hunter balancer can measure the rim's run-out, tell where the heavy spot on the tire is, and how much (if any) the tire should be rotated on the rim to have the two cancel each other out as much as possible.

Of course, it does require someone to put the wheel on the balancer correctly, that the balancer is properly calibrated, and that the person operating the balancer is willing to do what the machine suggests.
Finding that capable person is probably the biggest challenge.

Also requires they have a hunter machine lol

They're not exactly rare these days, and the Hunter web site shows who has them.

Besides, there's really no point in using anything but a road force balancer. If one wants well balanced tires, that is.
I wouldn't even balance my trailer tires on a regular balancer. Not when it's so easy to get them properly balanced.

Agree with this 1000%, correct balance is critical with these large wheels & tires. Just having the Hunter RF balancer is not a guarntee the shop guys know how to properly use it or will take the time to go thru all the steps. But when they do, it does a fantastic job and can even identify a wheel or tire that is too wacked up to be properly balanced.

The Hunter website does list places that own/operate their various balancers, but you will still need to do some digging to find out if they are any good with it.
I found a local shop that builds custom lifted trucks & Jeeps + sells wheels & tires and the owner is a Hellcat fan !! I've been getting all my tire work done there as I know he's making sure his guys are doing it correctly and are being extra careful not to score up the wheel lips during mounting.
