They're supposed to be super duper reliable pumps for meth injection and came from Devil's Own. In every failure the pump locked up and when I disassembled I found a bearing rusted out. In my application the pump is mounted inverted so my best guess is that water was getting in somewhere and resting on the bearing. I found a pack of bearings on Amazon for like $10 for 3 so I rebuilt the last one, tested to confirm it worked, and it's on the shelf as a spare now. I'll do this going forward vs buying new $100 pumps.

So the same bearing that is used in many idler and tensioner pulleys.
The 203FF5 pn has a smaller hole I believe.
I wonder if that could be used instead of hammering in a bushing.
Either way easily accessible at any auto parts store.

This isn't directly related to the direction some of this conversation is going but it is useful: When we ran the Lowmad with the PSI screw blower we put right at 40% of the methanol fuel into the hat, thus sending it through the rotors.
A - the evaporating fuel cools the rotors (22k rotor speed)
B - the volume of the fuel helped seal the rotors (ie. more boost at a given o.d.)
There are other benefits in the pm application but I don't think they apply here.
Worth noting: under enough pressure most any evaporated mist will instantly revert to liquid, causing an effective increase in dynamic compression.

Do with this information what you will. :)

Just an old school way of injecting alcohol from the ice age.

Years ago we would put a coolant recovery tank in, add 2 vacuum lines into the lid, one for pulling air in and another one tee'd into a vacuum line on center intake or base of carburetor.
Add winter washer fluid which had alcohol in it.
The vacuum would make it bubble and draw the washer fluid into the engine.
The amount of vacuum was controlled by a brass screw valve.
It would allow us to run more timing while reducing spark knock.

The fluid I run in my setup is $2 -25 windshield washer fluid with a 12oz bottle of Heet added to up the methanol content to right around 50%. It's "supposed" to be 50% by weight (not volume) but that's gets really complicated when you mix alcohol products and water (it's a chemistry thing in how they bond rather than mix) so I just go for volume. I wait for the -25 stuff to go on sale each spring and can usually grab several bottles for less than $1.

May be cheaper to buy 5 gallons of meth from VP. I was using Ford concentrated wiper fluid and adding water but think the VP would have been cheaper

It might be but 4 or 5 gallons of the -25 stuff lasts me a year and I don't have to worry about it going bad in an open container. Catching it on sale in the spring it's less than $5 total and the heet is like $2 a bottle or something so it's a super cheap solution already. Like $3 - $5 for each gallon of my solution that lasts 2-3 months.
