I have not posted on this in awhile. We got everything installed and fired up and started to make a pull on the dyno to do some logging for Z and the car was making no boost. Started looking and found that the front pulley hub came loose from the carbon shaft, piss poor design by Magnuson in my opinion. The stainless hubs are bonded to a carbon shaft, so any sudden stop breaks the hub loose from the shaft and you are out $1,200.00 on a replacement shaft. We are week 4 on an 8 week lead time for a new shaft.

Still no shaft from Magnuson, hoping for the end of the month.

The anchor for my boat came in, I can not say enough about the service and craftsman ship of this kit from Carlin Fabrication.

Some updates on the car: The new shaft for the maggie is installed along with a griptech 3.00 snout pulley, the parachute kit from Carlin is installed and have a few more fuel system changes to make and will be ready for it to be tuned. 7E4384F4-46CE-42CD-8E35-4677B0F44098.jpeg 9B0399ED-250A-4889-8DE5-2BF13C78A614.jpeg 3BD37041-3FF9-41AF-9847-08C0292C7A14.jpeg 5F55CC8C-8099-4D36-9FDC-17ACD91534F1.jpeg

Received some new parts to shed a little more weight off Scarface. AAD front lower controls arms, these are 7lbs lighter than the stock ones. C5BA4BD0-F5B1-4129-8A80-5241181450F5.jpeg 2F567A50-1954-41D4-B1B7-E66B695FC189.jpeg

I have had this Drag Pak cradle and Strange front brake setup for awhile and finally going to get around to installing the brakes and the 300c front spindles after the next two StreetCar Takeover events. The Drag Pak cradle may be put up for sale soon.

I had a sponsor purchase me a set of Menscer Coilovers, these will go on next month with the rest of the front end parts. Hopefully we see a drop in the 60ft times when the track is crap.

my friend is currently running this set up. It takes a lot of time and energy to dial them in.

That is what I keep hearing, we have a couple guys running them that race out of the same shop as me and hopefully i can get some good baseline settings to start with.

Finally had some down time at work and installed the Menscer coil-overs, early style front spindles, Strange front brakes, AAD lower control arm and AAD rear sway bar links. We measured ride height and then adjusted the coil-overs so the ride height was back at the same height so we had a baseline to start at. I will be replacing the front rotors with the Strange two piece ones, just waiting on them to be delivered. 24C5BA3D-5E06-4D33-A680-8327D584BB32.jpeg 834E7BD3-4266-4C2C-AAC2-8E3A56C074E3.jpeg AAE5AB83-7612-4B11-B370-31790E9ABDC2.jpeg

What does your car weigh and what are your weight percentages? Trying to see why you needed 300lb springs. All the high end coil-over kits that are on the market have 16” 200b springs for the front.

Not an update on the car but definitely an update to make working on the car easier. I have had this sitting in the garage since august and finally getting around to installing it. CC95A8A4-8DAF-4B36-99AB-FC9F1D1E424A.jpeg

It made good power and was super efficient, drivability was like stock. The belt tension can be a pain to get right but when it is not slipping it works great. Would be nice if they would get the 3100 to market with Whipple having the 3.0.

Yeah I sent Magnuson an email asking about it. I've been seeing too many not nice things about whipple failures that I don't even want to entertain one. I've heard the Maggie 2650 says almost just as cool, which is better than my god damn 2.4 which becomes a heat magnet. Have you made any passes with it this year?

I have not made any passes with it this year. I lifted a head in October and pulled the motor and transmission, installed the 625 head bolts resurfaced the heads and the 426 is still on the engine stand and the transmission was freshened by Sipple and it is still in the crate. I have kind of put this car on hold for now and I am starting a new project car with Demonology and some big sponsors for it.

The Magnuson does run way cooler than the IHI. Before I put the ice tank and was just running the FI Stage 1 Intercooler setup the sc temps were always in the low 40’s before the burnout and after a 1/4 mile pass they would usually be at ambient air temp.

More progress, new cradle, manual steering and engine are installed. Still waiting on a few small parts to install the Magnuson and the new Sipple Built transmission. Got the cage set-in the car and will start the install today.
