These new door bars were installed in preparation for the 7.5 cert cage. There were extensive mods done to my existing cage in order to not only give the support necessary for that DragPak install, but also meet some of the future requirements for upgrading the cage cert. It is still only certed for 8.5 now, but with some of the changes made, it will be a easy upgrade when the time comes. What you might notice here is how much lower the door bar is and it is bent in a way that allows easy out. This was actually copied from the new Dragpaks. They are allowing a lower bar because it makes getting out of one of these things less difficult in case the car is on fire. We went over the dimensions that the new DragPak cages with the NHRA tech who will be certing the new cage, and this bar design is something he’ll allow. It’s welded in (no more removable or swing-out allowed) but much easier to get over. What is called the “funny car hoop” will tie into this when that is added in the future.

Some of the chassis “build” details. These show some of the 7.5 cage cert requirements that will be added to in the future. This stuff is just for us fabricating knuckleheads that like to see what’s inside and underneath. 52B4728C-3181-451D-8B43-773875CDB0AB.jpeg AAAA65D8-3BE5-4144-B3A4-24DA4CE5B65B.jpeg D5130DE7-688E-44D2-8ABA-B588CFE67AAB.jpeg 87E2435D-8BBA-441F-AB63-833B57BC408B.jpeg 05DC5136-DE99-4F44-902D-0A300D68EDAB.jpeg

I don’t fabricate anything more involved than a sandwich. Still love seeing this beautiful work. (y)
A sandwich can be a beautiful thing!

Got the wheels off to detail the wheel well with some bedliner spray because the plastic liners are gone. Time for some brake pics. 347316C7-447D-4D75-9813-9AB7D82E16C4.jpeg 68422569-AA85-4BDB-8409-A8E5C56105E8.jpeg 597864DE-4EDB-48BA-B05C-DC2FA736DEEC.jpeg

Seven Eleven and back.
Is that where you get the new brake pads?? I wonder if you buy them in bulk at Costco?

I kinda wish you didn’t put a wheelie bar yet so we could get some pics of this thing carrying the front tires for a couple hundred feet

Don’t know yet but way under 4000. I’m going to guess 3500.
That’s a huge reduction! Taking out the sunroof is TOTAL dedication!! 👍 Enjoy!

Since he's getting rid of the sun roof, a nice carbon fiber roof center would have made a nice replacement. Less work and don't paint it. Might have been an even $ wash...
