Nitto NT05R drag radial tires have been discontinued.

Not a good situation for those who want to retain the exact Super Stock OEM look whereas these tires obviously won't last like typical street tires.

They even shut down my local drag strip

Last July for the first time ever for the track

temperature being too hot @ 142 degrees.

They used water to cool the track back down.

Ordered a White knuckle Super Stock this morning.
H/K audio group and rear seat delete.
VIN sent this morning. That was quick.

Anyone that has a Super Stock check your differential and make sure it’s full. Mine was very low and trashed it. Just a FYI better safe than sorry!

Lately I've been having the rim balanced before mounting the tire and then not bothering to balance the tire. Seems to work ok.
I use balancing beads and don't have to worry about the tire spinning on the rim.

Second the balancing beads- by far the best solution for drag tires. Smooth as glass on the top end of the track at 140+ mph. If the tire moves a little bit on the rim it wont matter with the balancing beads. My personal experience is that the tires only move on the first couple of passes after mounting.

El speaking of tat. The worst time I have ever had working at a performance shop. On choppers back in the day with $10,000 wheels was truning them up. Spokes turn after turn after turn. It just makes a nights sleep impossible. Kinda like port and polishing, down to the 100, 000 degree. Just a time con suming venture like tuning. Just takes time. I wood rather throw a worthless battery at the dealer.

Got the tracking notice from Dodge this morning. The 2022 SS is in production with an estimated delivery date of Dec. 22nd.

It's a good idea Mike, to have one spot for all the SS stuff to be posted. I would think it would make things easier on all of us as time goes on.

I'll start with a couple of early impressions as compared to the '19 and '21 REWB's I've had.
First, the car rides and just generally acts a ton different from its RE cousins. The computer programming changes, especially in relation to shocks and shifting are a TON better for all around drag race style "spirited driving" as they say. I am very impressed.
And a decent word of warning: Sport setting seems to have basically no nanny safety's. Yesterday I did the first 300' rolling smoky burnout I've ever been able to do with one of these cars. It's almost scary how fast it was going toward then end and the rear tires were still spinning. For me that setting is fun, but I'll not be using it much if ever, wouldn't want to accidentally pull a Mustang and end up wrapped around a pole.

Second, the ride is sooooo smooth and comfortable. My wife said it reminds her of my Mom's old Lincoln from back in the day. lol
The thing just takes bumps effortlessly. No more kidney jarring or dash rattling when hitting a basic pothole.
How much of a softer ride do you attribute to the difference tires between the RE and the SS?

Might be calling on you Ron for some tech advice after delivery.
First order of business is to weigh it on my scales and go from there.

Probably will be.
Rear seat delete and the H/K speaker system are the only options.
Of course I'll remove the rear speaker when I go to the track.

What is the status code? KZLD? They ALL go into a delayed status. This is because they do not have any live tracking for the ship by truck method. So they just go off the radar and after so many days they will change to the delayed status automatically. If the car is KZLD it will likely just show up out of the blue............

Are these the identical ones on the Demon too?

I took my OEMs off immediately and have been running an identical set (minus the Demon logo).

Yikes, that could be the local Brampton Dodge dealer's body shop.

Every time I'm over there for some type of service (that I don't do myself), there is a bunch of US bound cars in the back lot with some type of issue or body damage to get fixed.

Yes.
Dodge had special batch made with the Demon logo on them for Demons.
Otherwise, same tire.

Ron, I don't have a status code at the moment. Who knows what's going on.
I'm sure I'm not the only one this happens to. It's just really frustrating.
