Where are all these people going? Taking a buy out? Pushed out? Fleeing the sinking ship?
Anywhere else - yes - yes - and yes !

I always find it funny when people whine about the Fiat thing in the early 2010s, say what you want about Sergio but he was a genius and let the North American companies do their own thing.
While not perfect, he did handle the merger WAY better than the way most of these go.
Hands down 1000% better than the Steal-antics 'we will make you over in our image' approach. Might have worked it they truly had superior methods, plans and products but instead they brought a huge pile of stinking EU :poop::poop::poop: to the table.

I am sure his boss will push him to destroy Ram like he had to do to Dodge, so file this under oh well.
Bet Timmy gets a hefty paycheck....He will do whatever Boss Man says...

I was told there was a bit of a mass exodus coming with the first wave at the end of last month with Mark Allen, Chris Benjamin, and others leaving and more leaving at the end of this month.
That's never a good sign of things to come...:cautious::cautious:(n)

Agreed. The Europeans will never understand the American market. The FIAT debacle proves that. Great commercials, shit cars.

Wasn't during the Fiat deal that they introduced the muscle cars?

Daimler/Benz back in 2005/2006 IMO re-launch of the muscle cars and big push of SRT products

This is true. Those cars just actually got good under Fiats ownership IMO.

The LX and Durango platforms are from Mercedes. Sorry to see them go.

Me too as they're solid platforms, but in reality they are pretty dated. I really liked both Trackhawks that I had, but the new WL Grand Cherokees do drive much better, of course no performance option which sucks.

I like the LX cars as I am a muscle car guy, but imagine if we had a more modern, lighter platform that worked a little better out of the box with the hellcat powertrain.

I've heard a lot of good stuff about the next-gen platform, but of course the big problem, no V8s.

Any company needs stability of purpose and vision to prosper and effectively implement its plans. This constant yanking of the rudder from one side to the other and countermanding previous orders (or just soft peddling them without serious support) will eviscerate a company almost faster than moving your production overseas.

How old is the 911? If you continually update a great platform it can live forever. They just kept riding it. All new cars are really heavy with all of the crash systems built in.

The next generation cars are probably alpha based. They're not strong enough to handle any kind of horsepower. It was tried and they twisted like a pretzel.

And the 911 was a deathtrap back in the day that I looked at them hard (the 80's). Very easy to push it to the limit and have an unskilled driver get into a situation s/he could not get out of. By the use of continual improvement and, eventually, electronic stability and power control, the platform is an amazing handler at this point.

What car with any type of power wasn't back then? Jesus, most didn't stop or could go around the corner.

Agree; but think the turbo and rear engine configuration was an added conundrum for most american drivers, especially at the limit. I think it was especially for the folks with no or little experience with rear engine cars. Go in hot to that corner and start to power out, turbo lag gives a feeling of too little throttle so they nail it, then the power really hits and the car goes into oversteer, or pendulums, then spins. Folks just were over confident in my opinion.

It's a totally different car to drive. I cite driver inexperience for this.

I've owned Ram pickups (9 of em)...for over 20 years...if they fuck up Ram...I just might have to look to Toyota...
I drove 1 Ram truck for 25 years.

I still have it.

I replaced the starter battery twice in it.

sears diehard gold series for both.
