You don't sign up for a class since I have been doing it. You make your 3 runs and fall where you fall. I have been beat by people not trying to run that number

I thought I had to declare the class but it's been a while. In any case, I ran closer to 11.00 but since I was closer to the Demon that averaged like 10.80s or something they bumped me up. If I'd known I was that close to the Demon I'd have gone after it for overall class winner.

It was a fun format though, average of 3 runs and all. Great way to get newbies in to the sport.

Were they requiring anything special to run below 10.00? Their rules say something about a competition license.

Yes I needed a cage a neck brace shoes window net
Gloves jacket pants cage cert and a comp license belts sfi parts. List goes in cold only go 8.49

Jon and I got our street legal license for 9.0 last year

I was down at end of track today where the park the hemi shootout cars. We were to the left of the orange building at front of the track last 2 days. You can also see the score boards and they are way past them

Did they offer that at the event if someone wanted to get their license? Is it one and done or a yearly "fee" to keep it? I've never even been to an event where I saw they had license passes for stuff like that.

You can do it at any nhra track at a test and tune

I've never seen an NHRA "official" at my local NHRA track except during Moparty. We'll have to see about it this year but I'm not keen on $165 a year for it. Moparty didn't require it last year and MSHS didn't either and I ran 9s at both events last year. What other racing events besides this NMCA? Is it worth it?

Any test and tune here they check.
I got pulled to tech a couple times

I gave them 1000 in the last 6-8 weeks for my comp license and cage certification

Even at a NHRA owned track I've never been asked for a license.

I got clarification last year 9.0 was good to go. Brought a witness just in case lol

They checked my license. 9.0 you need the license
