Coming off a victory at the Sick Summer drag and drive event, Tim Flanders put his ’86 Mustang in the winner’s circle in the Suncoast Performance 8.60 Street Race category. Flanders spent a considerable amount of time working on his turbocharged entry, but also managed to pull off a final round win over Paul Sienkiewicz. Flanders won with an 8.614 to an 8.694 for Sienkiewicz. Flanders missed the first two races of the season, but his recent string of success has given him a spot in the top ten in the championship standings.

is what it is but I should have been 1st alternate and would have raced quick 8. It was determined by your fastest time. I had a 9.803 Craig had a 9.808. My fault for not looking closer at it

Guess I'm a little frustrated by it. Also if they would have went by the 3 run average like they also did in the past I would have been in. I know the number 2 and 3 left. Heck England that won the quick 8 would not have made it in

Unfortunately these things happen fairly regular. I missed where they put the wrong dial in one time and I ran out.

Another where a friend red lighted, but he didn't and the guy in the other lane didn't get a reaction time.

It sucks.

It was great hanging out with people @vortecd and @Hatermkr and talking with a few others I only see at these races but I am questioning if I will do this race next year. I was also told on sunday i am not allowed to run my et street pros but you can have a gutted race car with out a full exhaust

as long as it is free does it matter?

This event in Florida has a bad reputation for having bad prep. No matter what track they run at including Bradenton.

Doesnt become free when you have to buy another set of tires and wheels for one event every year

Jon and I were talking to a couple of racers yesterday and there were rule changes they didn't even know about and 1 races every race. Seems they are changing things and most don't know about it

I was told by someone who is really close to the guy who preps the track that nmca was not letting him prep like he wanted to. My guess they were trying to get through cars

It's always the same excuse. Other promoters can run 2x the cars and get them in.

I have done a few of these and yes I was making more power but never seen the prep this bad. When over half the field spins on the 1st pass even 13 second cars something isn't right

Rumor here is they weren't asked back to Bradenton because of their prep. This was a couple of years ago. Now I'm not seeing anything in florida to start the season.

The Fords are running at gainesville.

You guys have the MSHS race pretty soon?

Jon and I didn't like they turned the quick 8 into a bracket class. It gives a slower car like myself a better chance but this should be about the fastest car, fastest street car. The whole reason this event started was to get new people to the track in their new Dodge. It was meant for street cars running at the track. The event went down hill starting last year when hhp took over and brought race cars to the event

I would run the Street Car Shootout or the Street Car Takeover before this event. The competition is balls to the wall.

You guys should run FL2K. This event is off the hook! 10.50 & 9.50 index is sold out.
