For those of you that have had their front windshield tinted - would you do it again?

Would never get it done. Bad weather or at night driving could be difficult. I like to see shit.

Extreme SW AZ desert, over 330 days a year of sunshine and peak summer temps that can get into the 100-teens...so YES!

That being said I'm retired and this isn't a DD, and don't drive much at night. On my Jeep Gladiator I tinted the windshield with a clear ceramic/UV film that takes a MASSIVE edge off the heat that gets generated from the intense sun here.

There's legal considerations too of course and these cars are enough of an attention magnet without giving LE probable cause for an inspection/technical issue. You should try not giving them a pretext for a stop in the first place, but some states have medical exemptions for tint based on skin/eye conditions, etc. if that's a consideration. That would not prevent you from getting stopped however, just from getting an equipment/fix-it ticket...

I wouldn't .............

1. Illegal almost everywhere & they WILL ticket you for it !
2. You may run into insurance problems if you get into a crash & the adjuster spots it.
3. If the installer is not super careful applying & gets water behind the dash, you won't be happy.
4. Ditto for the uninstall if the cops ticket you & you are forced to remove.

Yes! LOL
Seriously it is not bad seeing out. Honestly while driving, I don't even notice it with or without my glasses.

I would like to do it but don't need the law on me for this, so no I wouldn't do it.
The clear UV option would be good for the interior.

Windshield is ceramic coated.
Absolutely needed in the south.
Keeps inside temp down.
Is also tinted, but cannot recall the percentage.

No Comment that can be used against me;)

They do have quite a variety of tints though and any that reduce heat and glare are recommended, from clear all the way to 90%
Where I do put tint I use the level 3 ceramic, keeps a black leather interior much cooler.

I did the mistake of letting the tint outfit do the side windows on one car. Not overly dark, but dark enough to make it really hard to spot a cop car at a distance in the mirrors.

Of course, driving slowly to car shows is a bit different from doing twice the speed limit on fun roads. I don't go to car shows, as having 700+ hp doesn't make them any more appealing to me.

Unless you have a guy…
Even if your registration and inspection are “kinda” stuck to the window…. Because of the tint. Haha.

In NYS cops used to pull people over and patrol the streets… I’d say a lot has changed since the riots… they really need a good reason to pull you over now

Rhode Island has RIDICULOUS tint laws and whenever I went to get my vehicle inspected I made sure the windows were down...no tint! :p Now they're dinging the inspection stations whenever they jam someone up for tint...because apparently they have nothing else better to do... It's AMAZING what is selectively enforced/prosecuted/persecuted...
