Looking back you find that sometimes life just gets in the way and you have to postpone those things you desire. All my life, I thought of having a nice muscle car but, everything else came first, especially when a kid came along. My wife and I put a lot of wishes and desires on hold until our recent retirements. Now thankfully, we are doing well and it was she that approved of the WBRE purchase. As she put it, "you deserve it and you should do it while you still can and enjoy it". I think I'll keep her. Both of them, that is...
Sage observations about life. I hope you both get years of enjoyment out of your car.

Jackie Gleason MADE that movie.... damn, he was a funny man. "You can think about it, ... but don't do it. Wouldn't look nice on the highway." LOL
Absolutely agree. Gleason was a hoot in that movie.

I'M IN HOT PURSUIT....

That is why he was known as 'the great one'.

Do you remember the Gleason ROAST?.... What a "great one". I was busting a gut watching that long ago.

Classic one liner.... "Jackie's got more chins than a Chinese phone book."

When comics were funny without foul language. AMAZING!!!

Wow, watched the first 15 of that. Different times on television.

Is anybody still kicking?

I doubt that any are still above ground. That was back in 1975. Too bad to lose those comics. Real talent. :(

70 or 71 Corvette with a big block 454. A person that used to live down the street from me had one back when I was a kid. I drooled every time I walked by the damn car! It wasn't the best color either....dark green with black interior.
-Or a 69 Dodge Dart GTS with the 383 w/4 speed
-Or a 70 Super Bee with a 440 Magnum w/4 speed
And there's others too....

1971 Trans Am 455HO (the above is just a random photo I grabbed on the net)

There were a few of these when new around my neighborhood when I was in high school. I eventually bought one in the early 80's and stripped it down completely to restore it. I got in over my head with one that needed more work than I bargained for. I had the shell at a body shop for the body work (a lot of rusty floor pan work) and then they closed shop. I ended up cutting my losses and parting out what was left and just factory ordering a new 1985 Mustang GT.

I think I still have the complete set of OEM GM blue stripes still in boxes for it somewhere. I ended loaning out the 455HO to a buddy who put it in a 69 Firebird. He may have eventually blown and rebuilt it, I don't remember, but then sold the car WITH MY motor still in it. LOL, the good old days when you can laugh that off and not care.

That's the Firebird with my 455 and me in the Mustang in the background way back then ...

In high school... 1957 Corvette drag car. In 1968 I went partners with the owner and got to drive this one. Altered class that was just a gutted shell but it was a real ‘57 Vette! B365A30B-ABAC-48F7-820B-C4625A1D5E45.jpeg

I always wanted a 1969 Yenko Camaro, Big Block 4 Speed.

Never could afford one but built a nice clone later in life, still have the car and living the kid dream. Doesn’t get driven much anymore.

The late 60’s were such a great time to experience as a budding gear head. Cruising the local scene checking out the latest “fastest car ever” or making an occasional run into the larger city just to see the action. Best time was watching a 69 ZL-1 Camaro back into a spot at a diner just to rattle the plate glass windows. Truly like American Graffiti just a few years later. Beautiful car OBTW.

What was your fantasy car ?
I was out in the shop today and came across some old car posters I had collected in the eighties and it got me wondering - what was your fantasy car growing up? For an all out (money is no issue) it was the Lamborghini Countach - I had the Apline stereo poster. As a real world car (one I could maybe afford) I always wanted an AAR Cuda - just a bad ass 340-6 barrel with a 4 speed.
a 1969 road runner. I purchased one about 6 years ago. Sold it after 4 years. The money was to good to turn down. Wish I had kept it.

Born in 1977, saw the movies long after their release, on TV, fell in love with the Lambo, and ladies.
Wanted a Lambo ever since, but now I want a Huracan Evo AWD.

I wanted the ladies. The Lambo was a PS. Almost bought one in '78 and the salesman talked me out of it. He said " don't sell what you are driving because you will need it, A lot "
