Highly motivating.
You've heard all the jokes about helo's, I'm sure. Truth be told flying them is harder than flying jet planes.
I used to ride around Japan in our Air Wing's H-3's. Back and forth from Yokosuka harbor where the USS Midway was docked and our shared airfield, Atsugi, about 20...
I've felt this once or twice with the stock 305's around Kentucky, but in general not a problem here.
The replacement tires, and this whole load rating question, would primarily be for road course driving on smooth asphalt.
Hi Magnified,
Yes, that is good advice.
To throw another muddy-the-waters concept into the discussion, that chart has an "XL Reinforced" section. I checked the load rating again at Tire Rack for the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires I want. These front Michelin's in size 315/30-20 are 104Y, and...
Was thinking again about tires since I now have my aftermarket wheels (see DGatzby's thread "Aftermarket parts - what works and what is a waste of cash?") and remembered this tire thread. Today I googled questions about load ratings, since it seems most replacement tires for the Pirelli's on our...
All,
I just received custom wheels made by triumphforged.com. These are the RX-16's. Bismarck Alvarado made the "program profile thicker than average" to better stress them for road course driving. DGatzby's sharp Roadster model wheels were also made stronger by Bismarck at his request...
There is a saying in aviation about doing something stupid, like, for example, landing with your gear up. "There are those that have, and those that will!" Yep!
I like the Hellraisin color. I saw the Cinnamon Stick on a Scat Pack last week and liked it okay too. It is a toned down orange.
The color that always catches my eye is the Octane Red. I came so close to getting that color. Then my wife said, "You have to be Plum Crazy to buy this car!"...
Interesting development. Plum Crazy Purple was the 5th most popular color of 16 colors selected by 2019 model year Hellcat Red Eye Wide Body buyers. Mine looks dark blue in certain light conditions and photographs.
Fumanchu,
Not good to hear about the insecurity of these systems. Like I said in my previous post I’d seen a video of two thieves reading the key fob of a BMW (now that I think of it, maybe a Mercedes) from outside an apartment with a laptop. I bought faraday cage wallets for all my Hellcat...
Adding to Hpindy’s post...thieves can read our key fobs very easily. I saw a video where thieves in London read a BMW’s fob from outside the owner’s apartment and then successfully stole the car. If you were to park, and then lock your car with the key fob, and a thief was close - or followed...
I’m with the people who don’t want salt corroding the car so I put it up for winter in Northern Kentucky. It will stay in storage from December 1 to April 1st. I take it off my auto policy’s liability for those four months - saves about $500. It still has comprehensive/collision in case...
Like that Red Eye stencil on your car cover. I never thought to wrap my windscreen when I had the entire car wrapped In X-Pel. Don’t think the detailer mentioned it. My one blemish is a small rock chip middle of the front windscreen - and when that happened on the freeway behind a truck it...
There are better prices mentioned here for PUP, but if you buy from your dealership (I do - I want to bolster documentation I'm adhering to the six month oil and filter change requirement and specified products to maintain warranty) be sure to let them know you are doing these oil and filter...
I'm going to wear out my stock tires before replacing them too.
There is a Challenger owner who posted here who went with 315/35-20 on stock Devil's Rims and he was very pleased. They have a little greater diameter than the 305/35's - no problem in the rear - so the question was would they...
Guys have replaced the stock Pirelli's on their stock Devil's Rim wheels with 315/35-20 tires, and there is a lot of support for the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (a summer tire, but if you live in Florida there will be very few days when you'd have to worry about cold weather and the tire...
HRJ,
I swear...just when you think you got something understood!
With regard to the Michelin PS4S tires and that michelinman.com link where I got the 104Y info, I noticed there are TWO listings to "buy" 4S tires - for what would appear to be the same dang tire. They do have different model...
