ACR Challenger Ruled Out Because It Was Too Heavy

TD, I really enjoyed his review of the GT500 and he drove those two cars on NCM too! Thanks for posting it. I'm with you - I want to have fun on the track and get what I can out of the Challenger with safety in mind. Best, Finface

ACR Challenger Ruled Out Because It Was Too Heavy

DGatzby recently posted an excellent 10 minute review video of the Red Eye, driven by a pro driver, at the National Corvette Museum's 23 turn track. That guy was under 2:20, on a stock car with stock tires, and this guy in this video is also a stock Red Eye clocking a 2:19:50. Watching this one...

Octanium Unleaded the real deal or stick with 100 octane fuel?

DGatzby, I drove my Hellcat today and had the same thoughts. The car is amazing. Merging onto the freeway is effortless, the stereo sounds great, the exhaust rumbles. I love my Challenger. It will be even better with a few mods!

DGatzby and I playing tag at Brainerd

Nice driving! What a great day to wring out your Hellcats.

Octanium Unleaded the real deal or stick with 100 octane fuel?

I looked up the specs on the Amsoil product. This is the ingredient list. "Contains Hydrogenated base oil, Methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl" MMT, but perhaps because it treats 15 gallons of gas and raises the octane rating 4 they've got the orange residue level down? If you go...

    Street Racing - stupidity personified

That was a great post, Magnified. Thanks for sharing it. I've been flying jet airplanes for 42 years, both in the US Navy and commercially, and aviation, like our unbelievably fast and fun cars, can be unforgiving of error. I can tell a few stories of where I almost bought the farm in the...

A good review on a road course!

I've had a manual transmission Subaru WRX for almost 20 years and love driving it. It's not a strenuous clutch pedal so easy on my left leg and knee. I'm hoping to drive RDEYE another 10 years (maybe more!) and that would be into my mid to late 70's. Probably will appreciate the A8 even more...

A good review on a road course!

I got to drive the same course in this video last October - really brought back the excitement of doing it watching him. He did it in 2:19 - I probably did it in 3:19 in the Novice Class I was in. Well, maybe a little faster than that! If you can get there 10/10th Motorsports runs a great...

    335’s on stock WB wheels

Stingray Z51, When you say the Continental Extreme Contact Sports in 315/35/20 square on the Devil's Rim wheels on your WB Red Eye are "a bit taller", but shouldn't be a problem, have you had any problems? How are you liking the new wider tires with the OE wheels? Best, Finface

    Bad OEM Supercharger pulley!

Good call from afar on DGatzby's car. Where is that and does that happen much? Sounds like might be a quick preflight item.

    Uneven wear on DR's

Thanks for the reply, DGatzby. You've got three sets of wheels, the 11" OEM Devil's Rims, the 12" Custom Mags, and the Triump 12" custom wheels, which will be the set I understand you are staggering 325/345 and will use with the dedicated rotors and brake pads for lapping. You car looks great...

    Uneven wear on DR's

DGatzby, So if someone hypothetically bought your same parts for installation on an identical REWB, and they had gotten 12" wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 4's, could they print this sheet and tell the aligner to "make it so"? Were these desired values, or the values after the alignment...

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

I’m going with it being essential to road test the essentials on your REWB on essential trips to an essential job!

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

DGatzby, Bummer they cancelled your track event. Proof of concept with your 12" custom wheels and the Michelin 325/345 Pilot Sport Cup 4's complete - at least for fit and looks. To confirm, did you drive your car to the dealership to be suspension modded with these wheels, tires and the...

    Great looking RE! Welcome!

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Got the RE down off the four post lift after storing it up there since December 1st. Trickle charger worked great, fired right up. Let in warm up, backed it out, admired it, drove it back in and back up on the lift. April 1st she goes back on full insurance.

Anyone Ever Use the Factory Supplied AIR DEFLECTORS???

That was my experience. Dealer installed them. Also put on metal accelerator and brake pedals.

Anyone Ever Use the Factory Supplied AIR DEFLECTORS???

At 2.62 Mach, which at sea level would be 761 mph times 2.62 = 1,994 mph (!) I'm thinking the air deflectors would LAUNCH our Hellcats into somersaults!
