Lol! I'm in the same shithead category as far as these modification threads go! I actually knew a Navy pilot whose joke call sign was Shit For Brains. His flight suit name tag read SFB. When his wife asked him what that meant he said, "Super Flying Buddy, Honey.", proving he was smarter than...
Bull,
Off OP topic, but...
...saw your signature about it being oddly appropriate to discuss the high speeds of our Hellcats as percentage of the speed of sound - a Mach Number. That does elevate our cars into rarified air and should be something handy to toss out at car shows to audiences...
Jack,
Thanks for chiming in. I'm looking at this article by Tommy Lee Boyd, and this product is offered by advancedfueldynamics.com. The lead says, "Switching from gasoline to E85 (and back) has never been easier." I appreciate you relating the experience of another owner. How they could be...
Max,
The most recent Hot Rod magazine had a review about a product called Profile Commander. It described how this thing can detect the ratio of E85 and adjust on the fly (said the ethanol ratio is not consistent at the E85 pumps) for maximum performance. It also adjusts for normal 91 or 93...
DGatzby,
Did you mean to say your drove 500 miles with the 325/345 staggered set, or with 305's up front?
Great discussion.
You are the weather reconnaissance pilot on testing for other REWB owners who love the look and also might want to track their challengers!
Best,
Finface
McLovin and DGatzby and All,
This is a great thread and I can't wait to hear your verdict, DGatzby, on your Red Eye Wide Body suspension mods, those great-looking 12" wheels (staggered tire widths to boot!), and Pilot Sport Cup 2's. I'm new to the HPDE scene so appreciate the expertise of...
Motorhead,
Good point about MMT being detectable. I didn't mean to indicate I wanted to use MMT. I'm hoping to go to Challengerfest this year and my neighbor, who has been, said there will be "tuners" there. He has a 2017 Hellcat and is very interested in what is available. I'm curious and...
You're probably on solid ground if they've made all those improvements, and their claims are correct. If so, you wouldn't have a warranty issued related to the additive. I'm probably taking chances with my warranty too - really just more interested if a product like this, updated to address...
Gents,
At great risk here of a rebuke (new guy) reading this post I remembered something about it in my 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT manual. Here are the two excerpts;
"Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl (MMT) is a manganese-containing metallic additive that is blended into some...
Spazzman,
That was smart. I spoke with their rep before I decided to buy a brace from them - answered all my questions. I just installed the DIRS and I needed someone to hold a part of it while I threaded a bolt up into the crossmember (wife happy to oblige), but otherwise I did it myself...
You might want to look at the DIRS brace by Per4mance Development. Their new two piece design addresses the issue of not enough play in the drivetrain (they say - I just put on on my 2019)
Ha! I like the permanent heat-exchanger on the forehead thought. SOME people, when I was younger, thought I had a big nose. Now that I'm older, and my ear lobes are naturally drooping lower, my nose doesn't look so big! I suppose both our noses and our ears ARE heat-exchangers - like elephants!
Gatzby and MotorHead and All,
Hello from Northern Kentucky. I have the same car as Gatzby - 2019 RE Wide Body - and I'm intrigued by his efforts to improve the handling of these cars. Gatzby invited me to come over from the challengertalk.com forum so here I am. Gatzby was kind enough over...
